DUBAI: Around 1,000 employees have left Dubai-based Emirates airline for various reasons in just three months, Reuters reported.
Quoting a spokeswoman, the news agency said: “Around 1,000 employees have left Emirates in the past three months ‘for various reasons and largely through natural attrition.’”
The world’s biggest long-haul carrier is also undergoing modest restructuring following 75 per cent decline in half year net profits announced a couple of months back.
“Sources familiar with the matter told Reuters in December Emirates had offered redundancies to staff working in its head-office in Dubai as part of a review of its workforce,” it said.
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad had also earlier announced redundancies due to slowing aviation market and tough competition.
