DUBAI: An Oman Air flight made a medical emergency landing after a passenger was bitten by a centipede which he was carrying in his pocket.
The passenger was immediately rushed to the hospital after landing with his family members. The flight was on its way from Muscat to London’s Heathrow airport.
The flight later took off again after nearly 78-minute delay.
“Oman Air regrets to inform that a guest during boarding of flight number 101 from Muscat to London Heathrow was bitten by a ‘centipede’ which was hidden in the pocket of his jacket. Immediately after the incident, Oman Air team requested for medical attention and the affected guest was taken for treatment accompanied by his family,” the airline said in a statement.
“Oman Air apologizes for the inconvenience caused to its valued guests, confirming giving its utmost priority to the safety and wellbeing of the guests, and extends its appreciation for their understanding and cooperation. Flight WY 101 departed with a delay of 1 hour and 18 minutes,” it the airline said.
