Indian carrier Jet Airways with 149 people onboard made an emergency landing due to a technical glitch on Saturday evening.
“Our flight S2 4364 from Kolkata to Bengaluru was diverted to Hyderabad due to technical reasons. An emergency was declared as per protocol & all of our 142 guests and 7 crew landed safely at Hyderabad,” the airline tweeted.
“All guests have deplaned & our team at Hyderabad is working to assist them with alternate arrangements. At Jet Airways safety of our guests and crew is of paramount importance. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused,” the carrier said.
On Friday, the Indian carrier witnessed heavy backlash from the passengers after the airline offloaded them despite having confirmed tickets due to overbooking. The carrier had blamed technical problem for the overbooking too.
The passengers had turned unruly, forcing the Mumbai-Bhopal flight to be delayed by nearly 90 minutes.
