Indian storekeeper wins $1 million in Dubai Duty Free draw


DUBAI: Ajesh Padmanabhan, an Indian national living in Sharjah, has joined the list of Dubai Duty Free millionaires as his lucky ticket No. 1584 in Series no. 235 was drawn earlier this morning (Tuesday) in Concourse B of Dubai International Airport.

Padmanabhan is a regular participant in the Millennium Millionaire promotion and couldn’t believe he won a US$1 million dollars. The father of two who works as a store keeper in FEWA purchased his winning ticket online had no words to say, but exclaimed: “Thank you Dubai Duty Free for my win!”

Following the draw, two winners were announced in the Finest Surprise Promotion.

Dany Zahra, a Dubai-based Lebanese national purchased winning ticket no. 0729 in Series no. 1640 under his daughter’s name, Daniella Zahra, and won an Aston Martin Vantage Sportshift (Stratus White). Zaha, a managing director of a construction company and who’s celebrating his birthday in a few days, couldn’t hide his excitement with this early birthday present.

While Prajwal Raj Paudel, a Nepalese from Dubai, has become a second time winner of a Ducati Monster Bike 821 (Red) in Series no. 297 with ticket no. 0674, who won his first bike on 20th December 2016.

The latest Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw was conducted by Dubai Duty Free officials headed by Colm McLoughlin – Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Ramesh Cidambi – Chief Operating Officer, Nic Bruwer – Executive Vice President – Commercial, Sinead El Sibai, Senior Vice President – Marketing, Sean Staunton – Senior Vice President – Retail Sales, Joselito Chu – Assistant Manager – Display.
