LONDON: Christmas turned gloomy for this family when their 10-year-old girl died on board Air Canada AC-868 flight from Toronto to London Heathrow Airport, the Irish Independent reported.
The young girl was travelling with her three siblings on board Boeing 787-800 flight.
Pilot alerted the air traffic controller about the child suffering from cardiac arrest and was allowed to land at the airport on priority basis. An ambulance and rapid response team were dispatched to the airport ahead of the flight arrival.
The girl had a fatal heart attack during the flight which was diverted to Shannon Airport and was rushed to University Hospital but she couldn’t survive despite efforts by doctors to resuscitate her.
The flight later continued it journey to London.
