Airline bans man from flying for life for assaulting flight attendant


DUBAI: A drunk man attacked a flight attendant aboard a United Airlines flight and  was banned from flying with the airline for life.

The Swiss national was detained at the Dulles International Airport by the police for assaulting and intimidating a flight crew member and interfering with the crew member’s duties.

The man – Martin Sievert – has been banned for life from flying with United Airlines, court documents showed.

According to a report in report, the flight attendant tried to speak to Sievert after he came out of the bathroom for smoking but he misbehaved as he was carrying a big can of beer and began drinking it.

The flight attendant took the beer out of Sievert’s hand. Few moments later, the Swiss national grabbed the flight attendant and pulled him back and attacked him, the court documents stated and reported by
